Product ok Vendor NOT authorized resaler.

Everything worked as it should until firmware update from Fitbit (#210.26). Spent a lot of time trying to research and fix issues. Finally contacted Fitbit Customer support live person and they tried to do warranty replacement. They could not warranty replace since it was sold by and supplied by The Deal Source even though under Amazon Prime fulfillment. Contacted Amazon and they were able to offer an 80% refund upon return. Be careful! Amazon representative did confirm that they are an authorized reseller. The product pages never state that a seller is an authorized reseller.Lesson is to verify that item is SOLD BY and SUPPLIED BY and SHIPPED BY AMAZON. I have had a similar issue before with products snot sold by amazon. Just because it is on PRIME and fulfilled by Amazon does not mean that the seller is an Authorized reseller. Amazon could make this more clear on their page that they are authorized reseller.

    Appears to be accurate

Fairly easy to set up. It measures the 3 things I most wanted and more. (Steps, heart rate and sleep info)I like the reminder that it’s time to start winding down for bedtime and when it’s time to get moving. (Though the moving part can be a little annoying)😁. The only negative is that I seem to need to put my watch in my pocket at the grocery or big box store where I’m pushing a cart in order to count steps. It does well on the treadmill if I remember to set the watch and again works best in my pocket if I hold on the the bars. It also does well on my stationary bike but that too needs to be set on the watch.Overall, I’m glad I purchased this watch.

    Going Back to Apple Watch

I’ve had experiences with Fitbit for quite some time now. I originally started with the Alta. It was great for what it was, but wished it could do more. Not long after, I moved onto a Charge 2. It mostly satisfied what I was looking for with what it offered compared to the Alta (heart rate tracking, bigger screen, navigating beyond touch, more screen real estate, etc). As much as I liked it, there were still some flaws. One of the biggest annoyances was how it would get disconnected and I’d miss notifications. That’s when I went with the Apple Watch (Series 2) and haven’t been back since.I had high hopes for the Charge 6 when it came out and was hoping Google would make big strides into improving what I remembered of the 2. It seemed to have all the checkmarks, except they took away the altimeter to count flights of stairs climbed. The first thing the product tells you to do when taking it out of the box is to open the Fitbit app to activate the Charge. I haven’t opened the app in years so when I did, it told me to sign in. That’s when I came to my first issue. My original Fitbit account is no longer valid. I was forced to migrate my account to Google and there was some issues when attempting. It wasn’t very smooth and took 2 attempts. OK, after that we need to get the App to talk to the Fitbit. Which leads me to the second issue. For whatever reason, the Fitbit wouldn’t connect to my phone. The App would recognize the Fitbit was nearby, but it wouldn’t connect to it. I would open and close the app multiple times, along with toggling the bluetooth on/off on my phone, checking all permissions, and even restarting the phone. The app would see the device, so would the phone, but it just wouldn’t connect. It finally connected after I upgraded my iphone to the newest ios (which was only one iteration newer and released a few days prior). I don’t believe that’s the true cause for my issue, but whatever. When the Fitbit connected, it then tried to upgrade it’s firmware which lead to the third issue. The Fitbit needs to be near the phone while the firmware is downloading. The device couldn’t have been more than 2 feet from the Fitbit, but the download would disconnect. The download takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, but it failed on my the first 2 times. It completed successfully on the third attempt and now I can finally start using it.Comparing this to my old Fitbits, the first thing is that the screen is beautiful. I like that it’s smaller and a lot more refined than the Charge 2. I also like the fact that they have removed the character limit of text notifications (so I can see full message) and that I can go back to previous messages that were sent. This annoyed me before because what showed on the screen was only the last message truncated and if you didn’t see it while it scrolled past, you can’t see it anymore without pulling out your phone. You can see the past 10 notifications sent before it rolls over. I limit my notifications to only the basics like phone calls and text messages to maximize this functionality. The steps counter, sleep, and HR monitoring are what I would expect them to be. And the battery life is way better than an Apple Watch… I don’t have to worry if I charged the watch the night before in order to use it.Unfortunately, the added functionality from Google is also stunted. You can’t respond (preset responses) to messages unless you have Android. New functionality like to control Youtube music app requires a paid premium account. The touchscreen isn’t that responsive, causing me to swipe multiple times or just not respond at all. But the final straw is the connectivity. Too many times I would miss notifications because somehow connectivity was lost and wouldn’t re-establish. Usually a re-sync with the app would resolve this, but only after I noticed something was wrong.I really really wanted to like this device, but it would be too many compromises for this price. You can really see and feel the direction Google is taking with their acquisition, treating FitBit completely as secondary while incorporating the FitBit tech in their flagship Pixel watches. Especially with a $70 price cut a little over a month after release and them pulling Fitbit products from multiple countries. With all this, looks like I’ll be upgrading to an Apple Watch Series 9 instead.

Big improvement over the Charge 2

I held onto my Charge 2 until it became a constant challenge to keep it charged. The 6 offers more parameters and the numbers and text are in color, and it’s easy to read in bright sunlight. I don’t know why Fitbit insists on using the rubberish bands, they are terrible and uncomfortable to wear, I immediately ordered a stainless steel mesh band with magnetic closure so the fit is accurate and comfortable. The only downside is the magnet also attaches to anything metal is comes close to. I am a Fitbit fan and will never switch to Apple so I hope Google doesn’t tamper with the Fitbit performance. Yes, I recommend it and will buy another Fitbit when this one dies.

I want to change the clock face and can’t!

The Fitbit works OK, but I don’t have Fitbit premium, which is why I think I can’t change the stupid looking numbers on the clock face. I hate them sometimes they even just all run together the lines. I have nowhere in my settings that it says Clock and then gallery and gives me any options. It almost annoys me every time I look at my watch! Why did you do that? Make such ugly looking numbers?

    HAD I KNOWN…

I had an old Fitbit charged three and I must’ve been under a rock this past year, because I had no clue that I had to switch my Fitbit account to Google. I couldn’t return this product, because I tore the box up. The reason I didn’t wanna switch to Google was because they say they track my moves and I have a problem with that. Google claims that they will not sell my information for advertising, but they will track my moves for input. When you switch to Google, you have to make sure what fitbit data you want to save. Badges seem to not be included, say bye-bye. Also, my friends are gone until they switch their fitbit accounts to google. There is also no way to use this watch, unless you get a fitbit google acct.

    Maybe Bigger Than You Thought

I wanted a Fitbit because my friend has one and I liked all the features she showed me such as reminding you to move and other health related things. I waited till Amazon prime day and got this one on sale. I knew it wasn’t just like hers because I knew hers didn’t have all the features this one does, but I didn’t realize it was going to be physically as big as it is. Hers is much less obvious. I think after I order a black wristband, I will like this one better. Of course, that all has to do with the aesthetics of it, not the function. One thing I have found that I don’t care for is that in order for it to remind me to do some things I had to turn off the sleep mode where it tells me how long I slept. I really don’t need that since I use a CPAP and can monitor my sleep with it, but it was kind of disappointing. But, then again, it’s much more important for me to be reminded to move than to have two different ways of knowing how long I slept (beside my own brain telling me whether or not I’ve slept enough.) 😉

    Very nice tracker

I previously had an Altra HR Fitbit. I like the slightly larger screen on the Charger 6. The clasp is ok. I think I would prefer one like the Altra. I am concerned about this one coming undone and not realizing it. I also do not love the charging cord. The Altra actually clipped on. This one is magnetized. It came loose a few times while charging for the first time even though I was careful about moving it. I like that it has more features and options available than the Altra.

    Seems OK But Not Great

I bought this Fitbit Charge 6 to replace a Fitbit 2 that finally gave up. I selected this watch because it’s supposed to let me monitor my heart rhythms and do an EKG on demand. The good news: it does the things I wanted it to do – it monitors my heart rhythms and will do an EKG on demand. And it keeps more accurate time than did its predecessor. And it’s cheaper than what Apple or Samsung seem to offer and I really have no desire to answer phone calls on my watch…..What am I not thrilled with? The app is not quite as straightforward as I might have hoped. I’ve only had the watch for a week so my opinion may change over time but right now I’m not all that impressed. Google bought Fitbit and I expect better from Google….. And they just can’t seem to manage to get a decent watchband and that should be EASY. I’m not that big a person – not overweight and pretty much in the zone for my height. The watch comes with both a small and a large watchband – to wear the small I have to latch the band in the hole that provides the biggest size and that’s a bit snug. So I try to the piece for the large band – to wear that one I have to latch the band in the hole that provides the next to smallest size for the band. So there’s really no nice middle when it comes to sizing the watchband and I think that’s pretty poor. For what they charge they should, and could, do better. What else is bad? You pretty much have to allow Google access to your data to even get this thing set up and that is ABYSMAL. Google has no right to my personal data and this watch should work without a default of giving Google ANY access to that data – the watch itself or even the app (although that’s risky) should store my personal data without a default that provides Google with access. That’s a big hit to personal privacy and I’m guessing Google does that in an effort to exploit (read monetize) my data in some way that’s beneficial to Google and not necessarily to me. Very bad.Google can do better, that’s the bottom line. This works so far but be careful of what’s going on with your own personally identifiable information.

Many features — packed into a small package

I received this watch as a gift about 6 months ago. I’m giving it 5 stars, because I love the sleep tracking features, and the smart wake. I also exercise by walking. This morning I went out on a stroll and it tracked every step of my 2 mile hike. It was an urban hike. I reached my target heart rate by the time I looped around. I didn’t know that it was 2 miles until today. From what I read, it doesn’t work so well with an iPhone. I have a Pixel 6, which runs Android, and I haven’t had any issues. The one thing I don’t understand is that some people have been reviewing it at a lower overall rating than I was expecting. I think it may have something to do with wrist size. I have the band at the largest setting, and it sits a bit loosely on the back of my wrist. I have never had any problems getting the sensors to work at that level of tightness (well, looseness). It does come with two different sizes of bands, so you may want to try both, if you have a medium to small wrist size.I have never had any quality issues with the watch. I love the sleep tracker. It tracks down to the nearest minute, and with the Fitbit app, you can see how much waking time, REM, light sleep, and deep sleep. I need it the most to figure out when I was sleeping, and the quality of my sleep. I have no issues with it, at all.I almost gave it 4 stars, because it has a small and narrow screen, and in order to use some of the features, you have to scroll. up, down, left, right, and multiple screens. I don’t need most of these features, but they are nice to have. I learned that I have a normal sinus heart rhythm, and I’m not overly stressed.Anyhow, I could write more, but you get the picture. You should probably read some of the reviews, to get a better impression (not just 5-star ones).Good luck!

Replaced my Apple Watch with Charge 6, happy

Bought January 2024. So, I have had an Apple Watch since 2017. I LOVED it. But I didn’t love the battery time. The things I was interested in, like sleep tracking, I couldn’t do because it needed to charge or I couldn’t use it the next day. My mom has a Fitbit and for years was telling me to get one. After some health issues, I needed to start being more cognizant of my health. I didn’t want to spend another $5-600 on an Apple Watch that at most gets 2 days of battery now. I was interested in the Oura ring, but I have 60 lbs. to lose and those can’t be sized as you lose weight. So I researched and found the Fitbit Charge 6 was my best choice.Mostly pro’s. It is really comfortable. When I fell asleep accidentally with the Apple Watch my wrist was sore after. So far, I’m getting 6-7 days of charge out of it, which is a game changer. I now don’t miss days of tracking because I forgot to charge it.I feel like the screen size is appropriate and it’s well made. I’m not sure about the accuracy, but reviews I’ve watched where people test them they seem close enough. And that’s good enough for me, I want a baseline. You can adjust the haptics for notifications, I have it on the hardest vibration and it’s awesome. It’s easy to read the screen, just 2 taps. It says you can water lock it for swimming/shower but I haven’t utilized that yet.The app… okay so when I purchased this (January 2024) they offered the premium app for 6 months free, then $80 a year. I will be keeping the premium. It still can be used without, but I want ALL the metrics you can get as well as meditations and workouts. It has replaced MyFitnessPal because I can track everything in this app. It also links with my Bluetooth scale. You can track steps, miles, calories, exercise, activity minutes (150 minutes a week as recommended), standing activity by getting up every hour for 250 steps, (it reminds you). SpO2, HRV, skin temp., HR, sleep (including stages). I’m sure I’m forgetting something. I haven’t used the GPS function which I heard drains the battery significantly.Somewhat cons, or things I would appreciate it having. This device is logged in through Google. I do see messages and notifications from my iPhone 13, but are unable to respond which is fine. You can control YouTube music, but not your Apple Music. It’s Just an adjustment from my Apple Watch. I’m also not able to sync it with Apple Maps because I hate Google maps. And I haven’t figured out how to use that between my phone and the Fitbit yet even after watching tutorials. I wish they had more watch faces to choose from, I think there was about 12?. I just felt like the one I picked was as close to what I wanted, but it wasn’t. The time takes up a large portion of the screen which I feel like is unnecessary. What I feel the app is lacking is something to track when you’ve taken your meds. If they did, this app would literally be a one stop shop for my health/fitness tracking. Note: a comment someone made about med tracking was just set an alarm. The problem is that if you are someone like me that is never at the same place everyday, you could turn the alarm off and then forget later whether or not you took them. It’s a really quick fix they could do.I HIGHLY recommend the Charge 6, I wish I had listened to my mom and got it a while ago. The few things I gave up by switching from my Apple Watch is minor. I’m not missing them other than Apple Maps and Music.

    Easy sight

I Love the display screen with large colorful numbers. I also appreciate the ease with which I can look at my stats. However, the other functions are not easily accessible and require going to the website to learn how to use them. This is not a dealbreaker for me because most of the other functions are fluff.

    Inaccurate. Misleading. AWFUL.

A family member had recently raved about her FitBit and I had a very old Apple Watch which needed replacing (due to terrible battery life) so I was convinced to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite awful and I want others to be informed before they buy.My main reasons for using a smart watch are the health functions such as exercise logging, step counting, heart rate etc. So if these things are important to you please read further:1st disappointment: Inability to sync FitBit to Fitness app on iPhone. I had a pretty impressive streak in my Fitness app and it was a huge motivator for me to exercise daily (something I have always struggled with). It was QUITE the blow to see all my progress completely wiped away. (No more 200+day streak for me! I guess).Fitbit does have a free app to collect new data but I’m still disappointed that they cannot combine all your progress from both somehow.2nd disappointment: SEVERE Inaccuracy on distance. I head to the gym for my first workout with the Fitbit. I get on the elliptical and select the “elliptical workout” option on the watch and press start. As I’m warming up I notice the watch does little vibrations as my heart rate increases to different levels “light” “moderate” and then “vigorous” – which I think is a nice touch. When I get 1 Mile (on the machine) into my run I decide to check my progress (on the watch) but to my HORROR it says only 0.3 miles… How did it miss 70% of my workout!?! I cannot express how devastated I was to see that. I’m working so hard to change my life and watching the miles stack up day after day is my only reward so far. I’ve done lots of googling to solve this problem and tried manually adjusting the stride length to every length there was but nothing fixes it and I’ve read plenty from other people who report the same exact problem so I’m convinced it’s just their terrible calibration.3rd disappointment: Major exaggeration of calories burned. As I mentioned I have an Apple Watch I used every day for quite some time. I am very familiar with my typical calories burned daily. I also follow the amount on my exercise equipment as well. For some reason the FitBit consistently shows an abnormally high number for calories burned. For instance something that should burn about 200 calories suddenly burns 2 THOUSAND…?? This all makes EVEN LESS sense when you consider the aforementioned distance tracking issue; claiming I burned 2,000 calories by running 0.3 miles??? Ridiculous. This combination of discouragement from the “it won’t matter anyway” distance tracking, to the absurd number of calories I’ve “already burned” today is a recipe for disaster for me. Un-motivating my workouts and encouraging my laziness. Please DO NOT rely on this watch for your health goals. The final straw for me is the terrible battery life. To be completely clear – I have had this device for 4 days and I have already charged it 4 times. So please do not be mislead by claims of charging “once a week” or “once every other week”. NOT true. And, yes, I’ve tried all the different display settings.I hope someone takes the time to read this like I did not do. If Amazon returns weren’t such a headache I would’ve sent it back after that first workout. I’m actually stunned at HOW awful it is. There are many more issues I did not get into because they are mainly aesthetic and I wanted to focus on the ones that could genuinely cause someone harm but I’d be glad to elaborate on those other issues as well if anyone is curious.

Glad I went back to fitbit. In depth review

I use to have the fitbit 3 se and loved it for 3 years and i tried the samsung 4 for all the bells and whistles but the charge lasted a day which to me is counterproductive. I decided to go back to my fitbit since I also enjoyed the platform more for recording all my data such as food ect. I missed the barcode feature when putting in your meals. I use mine more strictly for steps, 24 heart rate, sleep analysis, contactless payments and tracking all my workouts. I’m not a runner anymore so I haven’t used the built in GPS but based on technical reviews I didn’t miss out. It’s a fairly new concept which needs more software updates to be fully functional and not drain the battery life to oblivion. My fitbit actually lasts me a little over 8 days this is with turning the always on display off, txt message notifications off ( I don’t see a need for this since I’m not one to utilize too many short message replies). And having the display brightness set to dim and even in full sun I can still see the display very crisply. The contactless payments uses Google pay which if you are already an android user with a Google pay wallet set up was easy and I like that for security reasons it only is set for 24 hour use after putting in your 4 digit code before having to reinput your code. Now the code input is trivial to me I don’t like the setup for it. The water resistance is good I haven’t showered with the device but the waterlock works well when I wash my hands multiple times a day being a nurse. I have not tested it swimming for the 50 meter water resistance claim. The workout options have improved with more options and now I’m able keep track of my active zone minutes. The heart rate tracking during exercises is said to be more accurate than the charge 5 based on tech data analysis reviews that I researched before hand. The downside is Spotify was removed and replaces with YouTube music in which you will need a subscription for. The 1.4 inch amoled size is perfect if you aren’t a huge fan of having a bulky tracker on your wrist. You also now have the option of syncing your device with other heart rate monitoring equipment/workout machines including peloton but for me isn’t useful. It has a haptic side button now that was seen in older models which i prefer. Another great feature is the addition of Google maps for those are are runners but again you may compromise the battery life. Since Google bought fitbit there will be more Google geared software. For more health features you now have the eda and ecd scan no BP monitor like on my samsung 4 to my knowledge has pased fda as of yet. You also have a skin temperature sensor like in the fitbit sense how accurate I’m unsure it would need to be tested against something like a NTC thermistor. The sleep analysis data seems overall accurate. I also do use a cpap machine. Overall for the price I think it’s a more than suitable tracking device with its more updated hr monitoring compared to other apple watches, garmins and huawei. Still room for improvement such as the built in GPS. I think the GPS should just be mirrored on your phone which is still an option on the charge 6 you can chose dynamic, built in or phone. I would stick with phone to preserve battery but in all I recommend this product.

    Great replacement for Charge 2

My charge 2 stopped tracking workouts after 6 years of faithful service. Unacceptable and needed a replacement, but all the bad reviews on the charge 6 were concerning. I got one anyway and couldn’t be more pleased. Just as simple and unobtrusive as the 2 but holds a charge longer, looks great and does what I want it to: tell time, wake me up, track sleep and workouts, track steps and generally looks cool without having a supercomputer (apple watch) on your wrist. Plenty of extra features as well. For the price, I’ll be happy if it lasts a year or two – anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. No issues with the band staying on, I suspect some folks just have not fully attached it which is a simple process. Great product and painless upgrade from my charge 2.

Switching from Garmin. glad I did

Switching easily with low learning curve. Sorry I waited so long.Pros: Steps, HR and sleep way better monitoring! Like night and DAY better than what I’ve dealt with for 4 yrs! I knew I was working harder and harder but prior expensive watch was NOT picking up and I was exhausting myself. Love the graphs and connects to my food app in a blink. Came with 2 bands which was awesome as I’m tiny boned wrist.Iffy stuff but worth it:Cost good as you have to have a subscription of some type. At the sales price I could afford it.Can’t seem to figure out how to set stride length or other custom stuff as all of that is on consulmer utubes it looks like. Sorta odd but whatever. It will just have to wait for now. Also noticed it’s burning thru my phone battery, super fast so had to stop backgrounds. Need to be aware of the data they collect – sorta spooky but amendable.Con’s: None for the device itself reallly so far. It did count my HR at 170 at 2.5 miles per hour the 1st day and I had to stop and check it with 2 other medical devices to be sure I was okay….but calmed the hell down after that and hasn’t done it again.Only complaint:The app is crap on the phone IMHO but I am an experienced in fitness athlete. There is a huge amount of “work outs for you” bunk on there. I haven’t found one in the last week that doesn’t make me want to hurl. All are led by these hyperactive fake young (like super young) folks. Fitbit! Shame on you – that group doesn’t have the money OTHER folks have AND The population trends for fitness are NOT in the 20 something ranges long term. Wake up fitbit. Nobody wants to see a perky stick person working out while they try to get fit. if they quite working out you won’t be selling replacements now will you?

Good for basic tracking, premium feature is a joke

Been using the charge 6 daily for almost a month. Background: I exercise 5-6 times a week, 1-2.5 hrs a day. My main goal with the device is to track heart rate during exercise and to track sleep in order to gauge recovery. The good:1. Heart rate tracking. I didn’t compare it to the better known heart rate devices like Whoop strap or Polar. But based on all the youtube comparison reviews, charge 6 is decent in this regard. I did compare it against another home heart rate monitor, the result is very similar. The app breaks down each exercise into heart rate zones. It’s nice to know exactly how many minutes I was in fat burning zone vs cardio zone. You can also set customized heart rate zones. I’ve been trying to get into zone 2 cardio, so I find myself constantly checking heart rate during outdoor runs. The screen/display is bright and clear, even on super sunny days.2. Sleep tracking. Good insights into how long I was in deep sleep vs. light vs. REM. I check it everyday first thing in the morning. And it doesn’t always align with my own assessment. Some nights I get less than 6 hrs of sleep and wake up thinking I must be tired. However the app might show that I spent a good amount of time in deep sleep, which can have an instantly uplifting effect. I also feel extra motivated to do some breathing exercise before bedtime, knowing that it might promote better sleep and give me better stats.3. Recovery estimation. For a week or so, my resting heart rate inched up everyday. Turned out I was doing too much, stacking weight training with core work and a 5-8k run. Once I slowed down, my RHR came down too. The whole time, I was feeling fine physically, so I wouldn’t have caught this so early if it wasn’t for Fitbit. The bad:1. Blood oxygen saturation is wildly inaccurate. If I take its number seriously, I’d be going to the ER twice a week. It’s also way off when compared to a home blood oxygen device.2. Bugs. First bug relates to exercise timing. One day I did weight training from 11:30 pm to just after midnight. Whenever I tried to view details of this exercise session, the app crashed. This has since become a replicable behavior. Second is double counting. There’s a particular running coaching session I like on the Fitbit app. But whenever I use it during a run, it counts as a separate exercise in addition to my tracked run. I can delete the dup exercise but somehow it can’t be deleted from active zone minute, not from the app or the web dashboard page.3. Readiness score is a joke. Since this is a feature behind the Fitbit premium paywall, maybe its incompetency is a blessing so that no one should feel the need to pay for it. It works by collecting your sleep, heart rate and active zone stats for the first 1-2 weeks and then “personalize” it to fit you. So as expected, the first 2 weeks, my readiness score was constantly at 1 (out of 100) because without a baseline, it thought I exercised too much. Once baseline is established, the opposite happened. Now the score is constantly close to 100 because it took an average of my past active zone minutes and now tells me to go over that avg every single day. Now there’re a few issues here. First, past average is inaccurate because of the double counting issue noted in #2. Secondly, it’s inappropriate to tell people to go for such a high number everyday without recovery consideration. If someone were to follow this readiness score’s advice, there’s a very big chance that they will overtrain and result in injury. Thirdly, this is not some sophisticated algorithm. I write code for a living and I can almost guess how this readiness score is created. Since it’s based on sleep score, heart rate variability number and past active zone minutes, someone probably wrote an IF statement breaking the score into the 3 buckets and calculating the exact number using basic formula involving average/percentage, nothing more than grade school math.Note: many people have complained about firmware update that causes massive issue and renders the device useless. I’m waiting to see on this one.

Good improvements over the Charge 5 but broken app

I upgraded from the Charge 5What I like about the Charge 6:- Great price- Sensors to track body activity are more accurate (I don’t have a way to test this but other people in YouTube have and these sensors are really good for a device at this price point with no chest strap)- Same great battery life. I get 6-7 days (I use normal brightness, do not use GPS, have sleep mode programmed, and keep the screen off unless I need to see it).- The home button to return to the time screen is great.- Triple tapping to zoom in is nice- When it works the Google Maps app is really nice. When you launch the phone app it kicks in automatically (need to set it up this way in your Fitbit app) otherwise you have to start the walk on the phone app and then manually connect to the app from your Charge 6. It tells you where to turn and it is nicer/safer than staring at your phone. The connectivity to the Phone app however is unreliable. Lots of retries and fiddling with the bluetooth settings to get it to work. Feels like a beta. I hope this is improved with a future upgrade. I have my Charge device set to 12 hr time format but this app shows 24 hr format at the top which to me is confusing and it may be a bug. I hope this is addressed in a future update.- More exercise modes and more settings/mode- The double tapping for water locking the device seems to work a little better to me than the Charge 5.- The unit’s vibration when alarm goes off seems to be more noticeable than in the Charge 5. Less likely to miss it.- Bluetooth integration with gym cardio workout machines is nice however I don’t have any equipment to test this. I read that there is an issue with the encryption that Google uses. Just be aware that unless you are at a gym that has bought very recent equipment, the machines aren’t likely to support bluetooth. Most hotels I workout in don’t have this either. I don’t really need this but some people may find it useful. What I don’t like:- If you are on iOS you still can’t reply to texts (I know there is an iOS security constraint that doesn’t allow this but come on Google…time to find a workaround)- Like the Charge 5 the GPS is terrible. It drains the battery and it is very inaccurate. I use my iPhone’s GPS tracking synced to my Charge 6 instead and it works great. If you don’t have your phone with you then you are out of luck.- The biggest disappointment is the YouTube Music app. Like the Google Maps it is a remote control for the phone app. I’m a YouTube Music subscriber so I was really looking forward to this but the connectivity to the phone app is very unreliable (like the Google Maps app). You can’t really see your music library, find an artist, and select Shuffle Play. All you can do is use the playback controls. (which I already have in Siri and on my Powerbeats pro earbuds), see a list of your recently played songs, and a couple of Google created playlists that I don’t care to use. I really hope that they improve it in future software upgrades.- Some exercise modes have an Auto Detect and Auto Stop feature. Basically this feature auto starts an exercise mode if the device detects that you are exercising. It sound good but in reality I found it to be more of a nuisance. The device can’t tell if I’m just in a hurry or warming up for a workout. If I’m in the middle of a workout and I slow down to catch my breath, the Charge 6 will ask me if I want to stop which means I’m forced to interact with the device when I don’t really want to. Luckily you can turn this feature off per mode.- When you reach a new target zone the Charge 6 displays the new target zone and the number like the Charge 5 however Google has changed the number/graphic and made it impossibly small to read without stopping and staring or triple tapping which are tedious while you are moving during your routine. I hope Google improves this in a future software update.- When the device is on exercise mode the screens shows the time at the very top. The Charge 5 I believe showed the total calories burned which is far more useful, Not sure why Google messed with this. If I need t know the time I can scroll to it during my workout or I can ask Siri.- I use the timer a lot…it is still limited to 1 hour. The phone app was cool until Google did a complete redesign which a lot of users are unhappy about.I use the app and the web portal to log my food consumption and my weight. IMHO any fitness tracker is worthless if you don’t track both. The app calories data is also broken. The calories left for the day count is incorrect compared to the web portal (there is a difference of hundreds of calories). This to me is unacceptable and It has been broken for months. Not sure what Google is waiting on to fix it. As a workaround if I need to see how many calories I can consume…I just look at the portal on a browser on my mac, iPad or iPhone..In spite of my dislikes overall I do like the Charge 6 and it is a nice upgrade specially for $100. The more accurate sensors are worth the upgrade. That said if you plan to upgrade because of the GPS or the YouTube Music app you may want to hold off.

    It’s okay

I think this is my third Fitbit in the past decade. I absolutely didn’t want a giant smartwatch and finally needed to replace my old Fitbit Alta HR (from 2017). After looking at a lot of reviews, I chose the Charge 6 for battery life and size overall. The Fitbit itself is great. The data on walking, heart rate, sleeping, etc is just fine and seems to be collected correctly. The battery life is also excellent. I can go about a week between charges, which is fantastic. I love that I can see more than 5 letters in a text message now. What’s not so great is the band/latch hardware – the part that attaches the band to the Fitbit body. It’s weak, glitchy, and the slightest pressure against the Fitbit or band presses the ‘latch’ into my skin and the whole thing falls off. I doubt that a new band will fix this because the latch is part of the Fitbit body. I’ve nearly lost the whole Fitbit in airport security, getting out of a rideshare, and just walking down the street. It’s only been three months since I bought the Charge 6, so I don’t have a lot of faith that this will last commensurate for the value paid. I am still a fan overall of the Fitbit experience, so I hope I’m wrong. I may try a new band to see if that helps.

The Screen is plenty Bright enough to see!!

I had a Charge 4 – but the screen wasnt bright enough! I Thought about the Charge 6 but I didnt like the clock face shown on the ads – but I bought one and the screen was easily changed and it is bright enough to easily see!! It is easy to navigate and I like it very much !! I may like it better as time goes buy!! But I am Glad I changed from the charge 4 !! and would buy it again!! But the Band is lousy – I have already ordered a different band – the one that came with it – if I did it right?? the end of the band tucks into the loop at the end of the band and the excess band rubbed my wrist – after a few hours I had a tender spot there !! So anyway I have already ordered a new band !!

good battery life, I am glad they add the button back on the 6

I am very happy that fitbit added the side button back on the 6 here. It makes the control so much easier, I remember having to keep tapping on my charge5 to check the time, and it gets less sensitive over time, so having the side button back will take that problem awayIt feels very similar to charge5, I am not sure if it’s because of my setting (I didn’t change anything on my fitbit app, basically just changed device), the exercise auto detection feels more sensitive now. Sometimes I was just walking down the block for a few minutes and it started to prompt me to log an exercise.I bought this as a replacement for my charge5 which the battery died. The battery life of this new charge 6 feels like a great improvement from the 5. I have had this for more than a month now and only need to charge it once a week. If I remember correctly, my charge5’s battery can only last 4-5 days when it’s new.No complaint, I have been using fitbit for 5+ years now and I am so used to the feel, the interface and the app, despite no drastic change, I would say the 6 is a very good upgrade from the 5.

Good so far after 30+ days

My last fitbit versa failed after about 4 years, wanted something a little different. Chose the charge 6 because it was a little less bulky.I use fitbit because i work odd shifts and need to monitor my sleep the most. I work a lot of midnights and feel like crap most of the time so i cant tell if im getting 7 hours of sleep or 3. I would use with apple watch because compatibility but what good is it if i need to charge the watch everyday? The charge 6 gives me at least a week between charging. Also no real issues with compatibility with my apple phones with is rare.

    Fit bit

Been using this for about a month it works well and the battery last three to four days. It has some functions I don’t used but the step, heart rate, calories, and sleep functions work good for me. Update has become somewhat inaccurate, I do the same walk with my dog everyday a few minutes difference is normal but had a couple of times it was 40% different. Sleep tracking has changed and not for the better. It will not track steps at the market if you use a cart and doesn’t track a bicycle either.

Doesn’t do any good if it won’t stay on

I was very excited to get the charge 6. I had a charge 5 but after 2 years, the screen had stopped coming on when I tapped it. I was excited to get access to some of the new functionalities. It worked as expected. Except that the band kept disconnecting, and it would drop off in random places. The first time, it was lost for 2 weeks (I knew it was in the house because I initially got a notification that the battery was running low). I eventually found it in the bottom of a closet–it had come off while hanging up clothes. Then it dropped off loading groceries into my car and I found it in the trunk. Finally, it dropped off, presumably at CostCo. I now have a year long Fitbit account, but no fitbit. I put my charge 5 back on, and it links to my phone and updates, but no screen. But the band isn’t falling off.My daughter had the same problem with her Charge 6, and has stopped wearing it because of that. It’s clearly a Charge 6 issue, and one they desperately need to fix.Now I need to buy a new one, but I’ll be going back to the charge 5. No point in having to purchase a new FitBit every couple of months.

    Battery life is painful…

Overall it’s a great tracker which, for me anyway, is why Fitbit is the leader in wearable fit-tech. This unit is leaps ahead of my previous one, which finally just ended itself.IMHO, the Charge 6 it is very nice looking (but I wish they hadn’t discontinued the blue band), tracks what I find necessary for my personal use, and is simple to operate and understand. My two gripes for what it’s worth; I wish it could go further than 2 days on a charge (mostly because the charge cable is cumbersome to use). If I try to squeeze 3 days out of it, it usually won’t get through my 3rd exercise. I thought the setting allowed for turning on GPS only when beginning an Exercise, but it seems to be an all on or all off setting after all. Please correct me if I am wrong. But for me this seems to be why the battery doesn’t hold up better because it seems that, while I am wearing it and just walking about my work day, GPS is actively running. Also, the way it sits in the charger, is too cumbersome. You must have it in the correct 180 degree orientation for the magnet to grab hold, and with all the bulk of the wire and magnet attachment underneath the watch, you have to actively ‘think’ when placing it on the table and ensure that it doesn’t inadvertently release the charge cord. My other gripe is, the screen is too small when Exercising. Yes I need reading glasses, which I do not run with, but none the less it makes it troubling when I think if they redesigned this platform into a larger watch face, it would be more useful and enjoyable by being able to more easily see the screen while doing an activity. As it is now I have to wait until it all syncs to my phone then I check it out post-run, etc. Which means I cannot make adjustments to my run in real time.

A significant upgrade to my old Fitbit Charge 2

I read a number of reviews on this Fitbit Charge 6 before I decided to buy it. My Charge 2, now about 3 years old, is still working well for the most part, but it no longer wants to detect my heartbeat in real time. The green light on the back of it still illuminates but not as brightly as I remember it being before. It was still providing my at-rest heartbeat count so I know it’s working a little bit at least.I liked the Charge 2 but it was difficult to read in outdoor lighting. That has been my only real criticism over all these years, up until it no longer displayed my instantaneous heartbeat.Enter the Fitbit Charge 6. No such issue reading this bad boy outdoors. No matter which clock face I load, they are all highly visible. The one negative I saw posted on it was that it wasn’t as easy to read as the larger, square format Fitbit watch. I personally think that watch is clunky, and wouldn’t ever buy it. Even so, if you can’t read the Charge 6, you have some serious bad vision going on.I tried changing the clock face about 3 days after I first put it on. I like the second clock face better, but with that new clock face loaded, the O2 level no longer was being read/displayed. I did delete and add the Fitbit 6, and I reload the O2 app a couple of times, but none of that helped. I’m thinking that I’m missing something here, and this is probably not a problem with the Fitbit itself.I subsequently reloaded the original clock face and now it IS displaying the O2 level again. I’m going to try to get some help on this issue because I prefer the second clock face moreI purchased this on Prime Day so the price made this an EXCELLENT deal.I’m so glad I upgraded. If you’re still using the Charge 2, you should consider upgrading too. I’m pretty sure you will be happy.

    Clock Gallery AWFUL

I had (2) Charge 2’s, which I loved, and the displays on both crapped out. I tried the charge 5 but without the button it was a deal breaker as I couldn’t get the screen to illuminate on command and returned. When they put the button back, I upgraded to the charge 6. I like that you can view it in full sun as the charge 2 was bad for that. I like the look of it. The band is comfortable but don’t trust it and wish it had a metal buckle. I just wanted a basic fitness watch with sleep info so it was this or the Garmin (which had bad reviews for the clock popping out of the band). So, I went with the charge 6 but the #1 gripe is the CLOCKFACE GALLERY!!!!! I just want a BIG digital white letter face that tells me the time and the date. I need it big so I can read the time at night without my glasses and make it bright white so I can use it to navigate to bathroom at night. My charge 2 was great for that. That’s it! don’t need to swipe to 6 times to find the face that shows the time & date. If I want my stats I know how to find them, I don’t need them on my time face 24/7. I don’t need colorful artsy graphics that I can’t read. At least make a face that is customizable. So yes, a stupid fix could make this watch almost perfect, yet Fitbit/Google has not done it despite complaints. The other gripe is the run clock, for some reason I hate that you have to pause it first, swipe in down and hit stop to end the run. Maybe I’ll get use to it and even like the pause feature, but for right now he extra step is aggravating. Also, allow us to choose what exercise we want to see on our watch. Why do I have to scroll though 41 exercise to get to the one I want. Please software upgrade that on the app so we can choose which ones we use! I also hated that I had to link my google account to use the watch. Google is definitely big brother, but it is what it is. No link to your account, no use of Fitbit app, period. Kind of BS. I like it EKG, its cool, but I took most of the features off my watch, so its more basic. If they upgrade the clock faces to something more practical that TONS of people WANT, I’ll give this watch 5 stars. If they don’t, I’m going to try Garmin next time around. 1st world problems, but why can’t a company like google figure this stuff out? They don’t seem invested in Fitbit, only google watch.

    A quick preview and comment

I purchased this Fitbit as part of a program through my benefits I started to monitor health and weight etc. It was delivered quickly and seems like it will meet my needs and be accurate. I have never had one before. And personally, I do not like wearing watches or jewelry, so having something on my wrist will be different. But its comfortable and fits well. It was an easy set-up. I will update as I use this as it has only been a few days. Here is my issue that is a negative for me. I purchased this without thinking about Amazon days coming up. My fault. I now see the price is almost 50% off. I called to see about a credit to my account as a price match. I was told they cannot do that, but I could purchase the lower price and then ship back the item I already took out of the box and am now wearing. It makes no business sense for them to pay shipping back on an out of box item (now considered used) and then pay free shipping for a new item. I found that to be poor customer service. I would have settled for a credit or addition to my Amazon gift card and even a slightly reduced amount.

    Fitbit Charge 6

The Fitbit Charge 6 is an easy-to-use tracker, it has a comfortable band, a large, easy-to-read display, and the phone app is easy to use. For a first-time user the Fitbit Charge 6 doesn’t take long to get used to, and its tracking icons are easy to associate to the app. The Fitbit Charge 6 is a convenient motivation to exercise, and the app provides relevant tracking information. All-in-all, very happy with my purchase.

    It died on day 30

Lucky (?) for me, this died within the return window for Amazon so I’m not going to deal with the manufacturer. Amazon will send a replacement which I hope lasts 3yrs like my Charge 5 did.The device itself was mostly very good until this happened. I managed to find a face that I liked on the fitbit site after a frustrating search through mostly Versa faces.I had issues with the GPS. Specifically if you use the inbuilt or dynamic GPS yes it works but it kills the battery. I think it used maybe 50% of the battery in maybe 90 minutes. So I switched it to use the phone GPS but it said it couldn’t connect when I tried to map a bike ride. Then it died so I wasn’t able to try again! I do like how you can set the GPS status for any given exercise ie on or off.I hate the band it comes with but there are many third party options and I bought a set of those. The charger is a big improvement over the previous generations which were fiddly and difficult to connect. This one is almost magsafe easiness. It seems to be accurate as far as steps go though it doesn’t agree 100% with hubby’s Apple Watch for distance measurement.I like the heart rate monitor, especially for tracking resting heart rate which is a good fitness indicator. Not sure that the sleep tracking is telling me much. It seems to overestimate how much sleep I get. I am easily ‘fooling’ it into interpreting that my stillness and low heart rate means I’m sleeping when I’m just lying awake. If it hadn’t died, I’d say it was a good value. So if the same happens again I’d say it’s not.I like the size and the looks. I don’t want a big thing on my wrist. The display is bright and easy to see in most situations.I found it easy to set up and use but then I’m an Android and Google/Gmail user so I didn’t have to make any changes. I don’t think buyers should be forced to have a Gmail account. That’s the sort of stunt Apple likes to pull.I’ll report back if the replacement changes my opinion. I’d have given it 4 or even 5 stars before today.

    Great so far!

I haven’t had my watch for very long, but one of the features I was looking forward to is the long battery life. So far this watch hasn’t disappointed. I literally can wear it for up to a week and haven’t had to charge it.I have now owned several different types of fitness watches. And I am happy to say that this one hasn’t disappointed? This watch has all the bells and whistles that a lot of people are looking for and i’m sure that a lot of people even use. I’m looking forward to seeing that the battery life continues.I will keep you updated. I do expect a lot from these watches but maybe not as much as other people do. I want the information that I want, but I don’t need a bunch of extraneous stuff like listening to my music or having a conversation with my wrist…lol my phone provides those things. If I don’t have my phone I probably don’t need to be listening to music, or talking to my wrist. 😝Battery life is the most important thing, and being waterproof. I rarely ever take something off until there is a reason to when it comes to jewelry or accessories, like a watch.I don’t like having to charge my watch every day. So when i’m looking for a new fitness, watch the things I look for and need the most are time, step count, waterproof and battery charge life, the rest is just extra.

    Definite improvement

I owned a charge 2 prior to this from 2016 to 2023. The syncing for the charge 2 left much to be desired. Eventually the bands kept falling off. So I decided to upgrade to the Charge 6. I have only had it for 1 week but I really like it. I ordered the black and I love the colour. The setting up took a bit longer than i expected. Today is day 5 and the battery is at 51% , which is really good considering I spent a lot of time playing with the features and tracked exercises for 2 of the days so far. The screen is responsive to touches and the display is vibrant. I don’t keep the blue tooth on constantly so I sync it daily with my phone. The syncing is quicker than the Charge2 .Scrolling through the settings are easy. The band seems more durable than those for the charge 2 and secures easily. The only difficulty I have is the pushing the button at the side of the watch which usually requires several attempts before the watch responds.Being someone who prefers small face watches, the size is perfect for me.No complaints as yet and I have throughly enjoyed it since I received it.

Best for the money Fitness Tracker/Smart Watch.

I have used Fitbit Trackers/Smart Watch’s for the las 10 or more years and I am very satisfied. They are the cheapest by far, and a better value than Garmin or Apple products.I purchased my last Fitbit 6 for $106.00 two months ago on sale on Amazon to replace a Fitbit5. This tracker, heart, rate monitor, watch to me is the best for my money. I especially like the low profile design. The Fitbit in the picture is wearing the sport bands purchased from Amazon 3 or 4 for $9.00 and a screen protector also sold on Amazon 8 for $7 or 8 dollars. The best part of the Fitbit is the charging interval 7 days at the least. I have never had one stop working because it needs a charge. I us my fitbit6 on my bike to track my mileage, heart rate and and rout in conjunction with my iPhone I also use it on the treadmill to track my time, heart rate, and other parameters. It has endless flexible exercise choices that do not need to be connected to a iPhone, check web site for more info on this. It also shows texts and missed calls. It has a find my fit bit if you lose it, again in conjunction with my iPhone. The new Fitbit must be tied to Gmail account a slight negative if you don’t like big brother watching you.. in summary this is one of the few devices that I feel I can’t live without.

Misleading and just a glorified watch

I was hoping for a fitness watch that would help motivate me to be a bit more active. I am still on the hunt because I returned this. For the price, it just doesn’t do enough. The watch was generally uncomfortable for me. There was never a time I was not highly aware of the sensation of it on my wrist. The heart rate monitoring feature was pretty finicky and didn’t always work.I was pretty skeptical of the sleep features but was hoping it would be at least a little bit useful but alas… It’s ridiculously misleading as it claims to estimate your REM, light, and deep sleep cycles based on movement and heart rate which is a bit absurd and highly inaccurate. Even just estimating my time asleep was inaccurate. The first night it overestimated and the second night it underestimated (says I woke up and stayed awake 2 hours early than in reality). The next several nights, it didn’t record ANY sleep data at all despite being positioned accurately on my wrist. The other features aren’t that exciting (stopwatch, alarm, EKG, reminders to move, etc.) but I was kind of excited that I could sync my Google Wallet and use my card by tapping the watch to a card reader. Sadly, this was too tedious. It makes you enter a 4 digit security code to access the payment feature but entering the code is so annoying. The numbers reset after each number you enter so it would take too long to try to scroll on the tiny screen to enter the code. And make a mistake? There’s no back feature…The GPS feature was alright but not interesting enough to justify the cost with all the cons listed above.I think I will try to find a budget step counter without any frills. I think this is definitely overhyped.

Great, when it works! BEWARE: it won’t for more than 3 months. Exceedingly poor reliability.

I rarely write reviews, but I’m going to do one today. Why?Because people need to know how poorly these Fitbits are made.I am a loyal Fitbit customer. I’ve owned 2 Charge 4s, 3 Charge 5s, and 1 (soon to be 2) Charge 6s.Why so many? Because each one has failed and was (sometimes) replaced on warranty. The Charge 4 was returned as the plastic body tabs broke so the wristband fell off the ‘pebble’. This was replaced under warranty, and worked until I ‘upgraded’ to the next generation. *sigh* So I bought a Charge 5 for the color screen and all the hype. After about 6 months, I woke up one morning to find it totally dead and unresponsive – this was replaced under warranty (but I had purchased a new one in the meantime as I use it daily and needed to track my workouts). After 12 months and a few days, this ‘new’ one would’t swipe left or right, just up and down which left it nearly useless. As it was over a year out of date, Fitbit wouldn’t honour a warranty claim for it, so I went back to the Charge 5 they had sent me to replace the first one. Then as it was on sale on Amazon, I thought I’d try the Charge 6, which brings me to why I’m writing this review. (obvious foreshadowing)I’ve owned this thing for 3 months. I went swimming this morning in the sea, which it is certified to do, and I come out of the water and it’s dead. It was fully charged before. I connect it to the charging cable and the sensor light displays all sorts of flashing lights which I’ve never seen before but the screen remains dark. Hard reset with the cable, no dice. It’s another Fitbit casualty. This tracker is certified for salt water use, and tracks swimming by design. It’s water resistant to 50 meters; I as swimming in 1 meter. The fact that the “best tracker of 2024” (according to some review sites) cannot handle a session swimming in the ocean is absurd. I’m totally without words. I’m actually embarrassed I have to buy another one of these things just to keep tracking my workouts today, tomorrow, etc.I only keep buying Fitbit as i have nearly 5 years of workout data stored with them and I’m now dependant on it for my personal fitness monitoring. I’m appalled by the lack of reliability. I will never recommend them to anyone. If you buy this, you have to expect that it will be a disposable item, and might last you 1 year if you’re lucky. Fitbit (and Google now) have to REALLY up their game in the workmanship / quality / reliability side, because as an owner of several generations of Fitbit Charges which have all failed – I’m clearly a disappointed customer.

Does not count flights of stairs, very small screen, huge step down from the Versa I had

I returned this because it simply did not do any of the things I wanted from a Fitbit watch other than count steps and basic sleep stats.I had an Ionic for years (it broke just inside of the warranty period and it’s replacement thankfully lasted longer), then I had a Sense for years (it broke just inside of the warranty period and it’s replacement thankfully lasted longer, although the front face seal disconnected fairly quickly and I had to superglue it back in place, so I assumed it wasn’t actually water resistant from that point on), and when it finally just stopped working, I went looking for what would address my basic wants:* Track steps* Track HR* Track flights of stairs* Track sleep* Track SpO2* Track body temperature* See texts on my watch* Allow me to touchless pay with my Visa using my watchTheoretically, this does most of those things…but in reality, it does few well. In order:Steps seemed less accurate than my Ionic or Sense.HR was definitely less accurate. The watch would occasionally tell me my HR was 110-120 when it was 55 or 60. Not sure why it would occasionally double my number, but that just shouldn’t happen in 2024.The Charge simply doesn’t have the hardware to track flights, so instead of greying this out and telling you this, you just get told you’ve climbed 0 flights of stairs every day. I live in a house with a basement and second floor, so…that’s never been an accurate number and I don’t know why Fitbit isn’t more upfront about the Charge not being capable of tracking your flights.Sleep wise, this seems comparable to the Sense and the Versa 4 I got after I returned this.SpO2 reading did not seem accurate. This is always just a range, and there’s not much visibility into the details of where that nebulous number comes from, but I have two oximeters by my bed, my measurements in the evening and morning didn’t align with what the watch was telling me the way my Sense data did.Body temperature may have been accurate, but without accurate SpO2 numbers to use with it, the health metrics from my watch didn’t give me confidence. For monitoring the health of my thyroid, I want both accurate SpO2 and temperature trends.Trying to read texts or even navigate menus on the tiny screen on the Charge is painful and impractical.Supposedly the Charge allows me to pay with my watch, but I was never able to get his working, and the menus are so difficult to navigate that it feels virtually unusable compared to the Ionic, Sense and Versa 4. I couldn’t easily see any of the data I cared about on the watch nor use the watch to pay for things.I’m sure there are people who are happy with this for what it is, but I am not one of those people. Even with the Versa 4, I’m quite disappointed by the step backwards Google has taken with the menus and usability, but at least the hardware and screen size are good. I’m glad I have a Versa 4 and would recommend buying one of those if you are looking for a smartwatch in this price range.

Does not support Floors count (No altimeter sensor)

My family have been using Fitbit since Fitbit’s first model (clip-on). We compete with each other. We upgraded to this model and was surprised to see floor counts not incrementing. We don’t need the floor count feature but it was confusing to see menu still available in app.

Loved this; but it is deteriorating

Bought this when my Charge 5 died in the swimming pool. They say you can swim with it, but I discourage that unless you want to replace it annually. I keep it pretty dry, but a recent software update rendered it less functional. I like the price point, and it has been very functional for my needs. I use many of the features (my wife says too) religiously, and it does a great job of keeping my focus on my physical fitness. If I could wrap my head around an annual hardware replacement, I would be happier.

It’s Fitbit, what more do you need?

This is my 4th Fitbit. The last 3 were very much loved. When my Charge 4 broke…as in snapped where the band goes, I knew I had to get a new one. I waited several months and finally got the Charge 6. I love how it tracks my steps, reminds me to get moving, and just does what it should. I haven’t taken it to the gym yet, but I’m sure it will work just fine.

Solid smart watch with responsive screen

I was replacing a 5 year old FitBit watch and prefer the slim design. Arrived well packaged at 50% charge and after fully charging then syncing it is on pace to last about 7 days before recharging. Easy to read screen the touch responds well and I am happy with the overall function

    Good value for the money

Use my fitbit mostly for heart rate monitoring during exercise classes, for daily steps, as well as for monitoring sleep. So far, it is working great for everything I need it for and for less money than some of the other fitness trackers. I know there is a lot more it can do and will be learning more about how to use it. The one thing I wish it had is more options for the clock face. But overall, I’m very satisfied with it.

Love my new Charge 6 but the app is buggy!

I love the brightness of the display of Charge 6! The differences between Inspire HR and Charge 6 where easy to adjust to and I was very happy with my new Fitbit device. It’s the app that is troublesome. The past two days, manual entry of exercise is wonky. And it is not just me – other users have reported same issue with the recent update that supposedly was meant to fix other bugs, but has obviously resulted in new bugs! I have reported this to Google and hope their developers will issue another update soon that fixes these, because right now, the stats cannot be trusted. For example, here are screenshots of exercise entered yesterday and today. You see the start and stop times – but after saving my entries, the app auto-adjusts some of the entries and it shows 0 duration, even though the start and stop times show the correct duration. Also, for treadmill today, I entered 1.0 mile, starting 7:14am, 21m 25s, and after saving, the app changed the distance to 0.62 mile and 0 duration. Totally bizarre. What else is it doing wrong? Hard to feel any certainty about calories burned, other than I know over time what I usually burn when I am this active. I had to adjust the distance for Treadmill, from my actual 1.0 mile to 1.7 mile, just to get the app to count 1 mile – if this is AI, it is very disappointing, and annoying. Also today, I did 5 minutes Elliptical and entered it, and that keeps disappearing. Then suddenly switches and renames the Treadmill entry “Elliptical”, then disappears again and the Treadmill entry shows up, but not both, which I have entered again, restarted my device, deleted the app and reinstalled it, restarted my phone – all of that stuff – and it’s still incorrect.Using Fitbit iOS with an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have been using Fitbit since 2020, never had problems like this until recent app updates.

    Great

Got this for my man, it seems accurate. I enjoy the app and the quality of life it gives by tracking sleep, steps, heart rate. It’s light weight and easy to charge. I appreciate this product, it really makes me feel better knowing there’s an extra line of security and safety for the one I love.

    Initial Impressions are good …

I JUST got this fitness tracker at 8:00 AM this morning. I primarily got it for tracking my sleep, but I have not slept yet so I will post an update after I have checked that out. I’ll be honest, I had WANTED to get an Oura ring instead … but they are 2 times as much, you have to order a specific size, and after a 6 month trial, they CHARGE you $5.99 a month to use the app. This seemed like a much better deal. Already I have been counting my steps, and getting text notifications. I will say that the documentation included is a waste. You do EVERYTHIONG thru the App, and you have to Google how to do that ! I immediately changed the clock face (it was UGLY) and customized the info I wanted shown by default. Also, the instructions do NOT tell you how to change the wrist strap so I had to Google that as well. And I needed it. Even with the extended band, I am on the second to last hole. Will have to see what other bands are available. But for the price, I have to say I am pleased. As I said I will update this review after a few days. I just thought someone would be interested in my initial impressions.UPDATE: It’s been a week & I am very pleased. The sleep tracking is providing what I need & while I did not get it for a step counter, it is interesting to keep track of that as well. I was not expecting the Text Alerts etc. but those are nice too, And after decades of NOT wearing a watch, I am liking having easy access to the time again. I did end up getting a Metal Band with a Magnetic Clasp to give me more fit options & it works perfectlyUPDATE: Not sure why, but it has just STOPPED doing sleep tracking. I will get a report maybe 1 time every 3 to 4 days, but that’s it. I have tried wearing it tighter when I sleep but still nothing. Not sure if it is not syncing with my phone or what. Everything else is working fine. Very disappointing since sleep tracking is what I got it for.FURTHER UPDATE: I fixed the problem. The issue was not with the tracker, but with the app. For some reason it never installed properly. Last Friday I uninstalled the app from my phone & re-installed it. It connected immediately & has been working flawlessly since.Final Update : I apologize if I keep waffling on this review, but I CANNOT recommend this product. Sleep tracking has stopped working again. I am at my wits end. Everything else works perfectly , but the one feature I bought thus for us crap. I wish I could just trash it and walk away, but I spent so much money on it, and because I gave it so many chances I am now outside the return window. If you like all the other features I am sure you would be happy with it, but personally I am severely disappointed.Final Update: there has been an interesting development. I recently replaced the magnetic steel band I was wearing with an elastic one. As soon as I did that, the sleep tracking started working again. My only explanation is the magnetic clasp was causing interference ??? Anyway I will bump my rating up to 3 stars

    Improved Version of Charge 5

This Charge 6 is the replacement for my Charge 5. I’ve had it about a month. I have larger wrists, and I think the supplied band on the 6 might be a little longer than the one that came with the 5 ( I’m happy). I like that the 6 has a “home” button on the side of the watch which takes you to the main clock screen from wherever you are in the menu. The Charge 5 could be irritating due to endless screen scrolling to get back home. The battery is lasting about a week, which is good. My only complaint at this point is the bracelet is too thick/wide and sometimes causes a rash on my wrist, especially if my hands (and wrists) get wet and not dried well, or if I’m in the heat. Even the aftermarket bracelets are too wide for my taste, as I have purchased a few different ones. I no longer sleep with my tracker on to help with skin health, but miss out on the sleep tracking options. There are alot of clock options available on the 6, but I kept the factory set one as it was the easiest to see. Overall, I’m happy with the 6. I hope it lasts longer than the Charge 5’s I had (x2) previously or I may try another brand next time. They each only lasted about a year. I am hoping for at least 2 years of service. I am happy so far, but gave a 4 rating because of the wide bracelet width. Longevity happiness of the 6 is TBD.
